Julien received a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Paris-11 in 2010, under the supervision of Dr. Gilles Fortin, on brainstem respiratory circuits. He completed a postdoctoral training with Prof. Ole Kiehn, in Stockholm, studying spinal and brainstem circuits that control locomotion. He setup the current group in 2018 through an international call for new group leaders.

Aurélie is a CNRS research associate (IE) since 2008. She worked for 10 years on neural stem cells in zebrafish in Jean-Stéphane Joly's group. In 2017, she obtained a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Paris-Saclay. She then joined the lab to investigate brainstem locomotor and respiratory circuits using molecular biology, histochemistry, microscopy and behavior.

GIOVANNI USSEGLIO

Giovanni holds a Master's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Trieste, Italy. He then did an internship in Simon Weigert's laboratory (Germany) where he  studied hippocampal circuits. He obtained a MERST PhD fellowhip to join the lab and investigate brainstem reticulospinal neurons controlling locomotion. Giovanni is a 4th year PhD student at the Bio-SIGNE graduate school

After his Master's degree in Genetic Biotechnologies, Andrea pursued a PhD in Neuroscience in the lab of Massimo Pasqualetti in Pisa, investigating the connectivity of the serotonergic system. He then moved to Emory University in the lab of Marie-Claude Perreault, to study descending neuronal circuits controlling movement. In the lab, he investigates populations of V2a reticular neurons to locomotor turning kinematics, using both behavioral and electrophysiological approaches.

If you are interested in our work and our methods, you are higly welcome to contact us by email! We will also consider internship requests of undergraduates, including those outside the field of biology but with expertise in computer-based methods for data analysis (miscroscopy, machine vision, transcriptomics,...),

Students, postdocs, contact us by email!

This could be YOU!
